My first ever 100k

INDIVIDUAL BRONZE for City of Glasgow’s Debbie Cox and second place for the men’s and women’s team were the Scottish high points from the UKA 100k Championships, incorporating the Anglo-Celtic Plate which took place at RAF Innsworth, Gloucester on Sunday 2 April.
Cox (pictured), the women’s winner at last year’s West Highland Way Race, was third in 9:29:46, just holding off Sandra Bowers (Winchester & District) who finished a mere nine minutes adrift.
Elizabeth Hawker (Road Runners Club) won in 8.06.20 with Heather Foundling-Hawker (Honiton RC) second in 8.43.30.
In the men’s race, Leslie Hill (Dumfries RC) was Scotland’s highest finisher in eighth with 8:27:31. The medallists were Matthew Lynas (Thames Hare & Hounds/England) – 7:17:40, Paul Harwood (Leamington/England) – 7:19:14 and Dominic Croft (Woodstock Harriers/England) – 7:37:36.
In the team events, England won both men’s and women’s crowns ahead of Scotland.
